Conquering the Fear of Failure

Self-care: Conquering the Fear of Failure

Do we “really” feel threatened by failure or something else?

Is failure harmful, or something else?

The Truth: The something else

Failure is a measure or indicator of whether we hit the target or have fulfilled the objective. Falling short of hitting the target – is not a transgression (sinful act) nor a sin (decision to disobey God). Instead, we are to repent (make the adjustment) and bring forth fruit meet for repentance (correct by hitting the target). However, when we choose not to adjust and correct our actions, the results are rewarded with separation and pain.

Therefore, it is safe to say we fear the separation and pain, not the failure. For instance, we are threatened with being unprotected and receiving pain.

Fear is the feeling, emotion, and attitude that causes us to respond in Fight, Flight, and Freezing. For example, you are willing to stay in the place you are tormented, unfulfilled, and dying inwardly.

No, there’s more…

You are unstable and run from commitment, memories, and good relationships. You are scared of being hurt.

One more…

You fight against people that are in a position to help you reach your target, self-sabotage relationships after a positive change has taken place, and oppose your “own” happiness because you are AFRAID to FEEL!!

The Understanding: Conquering the Fear

In order to conquer the fear of feeling, one must obtain a New Heart and New Mind. How? (glad you asked) Seek God in prayer to remove your old heart and mind in the name of Jesus. Then exercise your authority to silence the voices that present the impossibilities, dangers, and the unknown. Begin to feed your spirit with God’s Word that shows the possibilities, protections, and promises that God Will provides for you.

Yes, it takes some work, but as the Bible says, “all things are possible to them that believe” (Mark 9:23).

We must obtain a New Heart and New Mind because our current ones don’t have the desire, capacity, or understanding to receive the Word of God to perform what humanity calls impossible.

Ladies and gentlemen, God will finish the work He started in your lives – God sees us through different eyes and hears us through different ears. Where we see weak – He sess strong. Where we see a coward – He sees a fearless person. The Bible says, “perfect love casts out fear” (1 John 4:18). "Nothing can separate us from the love of God - those who are His..." (Romans 8:31-39).

When you fear allowing yourself to love or be loved, you do so because the Spirit of Fear is binding you within the prison of unfulfilled. God did not give us a Spirit of Fear - instead, He gave us power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Understand, freedom is available when you are ready. Today, decide to live life without fearing separation or pain because your focus is on hitting the target and fulfilling the objective. Know this, on the other side of separation (God-selected) and pain (breaking free from the old you) is fulfillment (when we do it God's way). Peace.
