Beware of Goats, Wolves, and Uncaring Shepherds
In the Church, we have various attendees and staff that God is addressing today. For instance, you have Goats - who want what sheep are provided, but without being sheep. The wolves - those who have disguised themselves as sheep to enter the assembly and destroy the sheep. Lastly, we have the Uncaring Shepherds - who are in position to lead and manage the sheep but only for the money, fame, and power. They betray the sheep over to the goats and wolves to save themselves.
John 10:25-29 MEV
25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.
26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
God’s case against the Goats in the fold
What hurts is to learn that many of us are goats. For example, Jesus describes the goats as those who disregarded those in need of what they have. How many times have we disregarded the people within our assemblies who needed our help but declined? I am not talking about those outside of the assembly yet!
When we can regard those within our own assemblies as worthy of our help, we are proven ready to help those outside of our assemblies. Many of you will miss that!
Goats listen to the Good Shepherd but cannot understand because they talk themselves out of following the Good Shepherd.
Why? I am glad you asked!
Goats cannot recognize the voice of the Lord Jesus because they only care about what they say and want. You got it! Self-centered. You see, goats cannot recognize or obey Jesus as Lord because they are distracted by their own pressing thoughts and desires.
If this is you, Repent and become the Sheep - help those in your local assembly and then branch out to the world. I am sorry to my Church family for missing the clean-up day at the Church. I don’t want Jesus to consider me a GOAT!
Read Matthew 25:31-46
Sheep
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Goats
44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
God’s case against the Wolves in the assembly
I am not mentioning any names because that is not the purpose of this Blog Post. I am seeking to address areas that we all have fallen victim to and need help to accept, acknowledge, and confess to God. We owe God our lives and allegiance, not man.
The Wolves in sheep's clothing are false prophets. You know the ones! Yep, those who are always saying, “God told me to tell you,” or “God showed me that _____.” Ladies and gentlemen, some of them mean well. However, I am speaking on those who use God’s name to destroy you personally. You know the ones. False Prophets that swindle you out of your life’s savings or use their position to take advantage of you in (any) harmful way.
Well, the key is for the sheep to be silent while among the wolves lest they turn and tear you to pieces. [WISDOM 101] Stop, sharing all your business with people. Learn to pray and turn your situations over to God to handle. When you place people in the position belonging to God, then you are wrong, and the consequences are you being deceived and possibly losing your soul in the Lake of Fire.
As sheep, learn how to pray and follow Jesus for yourself - with that said, God knows how to send His chosen to be an example for you and teach you how to obey the Good Shepherd’s voice.
If you are currently a wolf, there is hope! Repent! Surrender your life to Jesus the Good Shepherd. Stop harming the Lord’s Sheep! If God can use Paul, he can use you too! You will suffer much now, but the rewards are great later.
