When your prayers go unanswered

“We need action now, not prayer!”

“I have prayed, and nothing changes in my favor."

“I need God to move now to delay will cost me everything.”

What is Prayer?

Prayer is conversing with God. That does not mean through spoken word only, but when we seek God’s wisdom and understanding to address life’s challenges. For instance, according to scripture, our groanings are heard, interpreted, and move God to action.

“Likewise, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.” Romans 8:26

Not everyone believes that God exists, so I am not talking to them. This Blog Post is for those who have prayed to God but are discouraged, disgusted, and feel disconnected from God.

The problem:

Brother, I have prayed often only for silence and misfortune "to happen" against me. For instance, when praying for loved ones, deliverance from situations, and provisions for needs where nothing happens in my favor.

I got it! Before the solution, we must learn the WHY our prayers are unanswered or WHY the answer is beyond our understanding.

It starts with spending time and conversing with God through Jesus. I will explain this important point.

Reasons for Prayer to go unanswered.

If you are willing to acknowledge the truth, even when the truth says you are the CAUSE of the problem. For example, in the scriptures, there are reasons shared why prayers tend to go unanswered or the individual’s attitude, intents, and misunderstanding impaired them from receiving.

  1. READ LUKE 18: 10-14 When you pray to exalt yourself instead of being humbled before God.

  2. READ JAMES 4:3 When you pray for God to fulfill your lusts instead to fulfill God’s desires for your life.

  3. READ MARK 11:23-26 AND JOHN 14 When you pray without believing and neglecting the proper manner. For instance, we must believe and ask in the name of Jesus.

These three reasons are the most common I found in my study. Our wrong attitude. Our wrong motives. Our improper manner. The good news is that we can correct these issues to turn the results in our favor.

What must be done to change the results?

The solution is simple, but the change is not easy because of our carnal minds or human logic. Prayer is both physical and spiritual. For instance, a physical being conversing with a spiritual being while on earth.

The answers are

1) Humble yourself and pray

2) Consider the purpose and promises of God

3) Believe God will because of Jesus (His Word)

The point here is to spend time conversing with God humbled, conscious of God’s Heart and Covenant, and confident that Jesus your worthiness will cause it to manifest in your favor.

May God Bless you, the reader.
